The administration of Damien High School is pleased to announce the creation of The Nancy A. Lynch Memorial Scholarship. The administration of Damien High School is pleased to announce the creation of The Robert A. Souza Memorial Scholarship. Named in loving memory of Bob Souza, the $30,000 endowed scholarship will provide financial aid to deserving students who embody Mr. Souza’s spirit of good sportsmanship and commitment to Catholic School education.

Spartan Space Symposium: Tuesday, March 10

The inaugural Spartan Space Symposium will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. The symposium has been organized in conjunction with the Student Spaceflight Experiments Program (SSEP), through which Damien students have competed in designing a microgravity experiment that will be conducted on the International Space Station (ISS) in June. Special guest speaker Rick Shope, President of the World Space Foundation, will address students and the community about our Nation’s Space program. The evening’s events will conclude with an awards ceremony highlighted by the official announcement of the final experiment selected to launch in June. The Spartan Space Symposium will begin at 6:30pm (March 10, 2015) in Damien High School Activities Center. All members of the Damien and local community are welcome to attend.

Seniors Honored as Ronald Reagan Student Leaders

Congratulations to the following seniors who were recently honored as recipients of the Ronald Reagan Student Leader Award: Dominic Trento, Conor O'Brien, Stephen Ontiveros, and Robert Bartelt. Ronald Reagan Student leaders are honored annually by The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation. Award recipients are recognized as outstanding high school students whose leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship skills are emblematic of our nation's 40th President.

Damien Students to Send Experiment to the International Space Station

The students of Damien High School are currently engaged in a school-wide competition to design a microgravity experiment that will be conducted on the International Space Station (ISS).

As participants in the Student Spaceflight Experiments Program (SSEP), Damien students will learn about microgravity in science classes while working in teams to design research proposals for microgravity experiments. In November, a committee of local scientists will select three Damien research proposals, which will then be submitted to a national selection committee. This national selection committee will select one of the three proposed experiments for the May-June 2015 spaceflight. The chosen Damien experiment will accompany 24 other experiments selected from various schools across the nation.

Tom Carroll Services

It is with the greatest sadness that we announce the passing of Coach Tom Carroll. His reach and impact on the Damien High School community is immeasurable. We ask for prayers for his family in their time of grief. Services will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014 in the Damien Athletic Center: Rosary: 9:30 AM, Funeral Mass: 10:00 AM. A reception will follow in the DHS Activity Center.

Remembrance Mass

Damien High School will hold a Remembrance Mass on September 11, 2014 A special Invitation is extended to all members of the Damien Community who are First-Responders (Police, Fire, Emergency Services) or Veterans. Such alumni and relatives of current students are encouraged to attend the Mass in uniform. The mass will begin at 9:15AM (9/11) in the Travers/Cronin Athletic Center.
