New Student Tailgate BBQ - August 23

Damien's Link Crew Leaders will host a pre-game tailgate BBQ before our first home football game this Friday, August 23, at 6:00 p.m. The tailgate is open to all new Spartans and their Link Crew leaders and will take place in the covered lunch area. There is no fee to attend. Our student cheering section, known as the PIT, will be full of GREEN & GOLD and we encourage everyone to come ready to cheer on our Spartans! 
 
Students are reminded to bring their ASB (student ID) cards to gain entry to the game. Families who wish to attend the big game can purchase tickets at the gate for $8 each. Come support Damien Football as we take on Glendora High School in our season opener at home! Kick off is 7:00 p.m.

 

First Damien Dance of the Year – August 23

All Spartans: Are you ready to show your dance moves? In public? On the dance floor? Well, here is your chance to do that. ASB will be hosting a “Glow in the Dark Dance” after our first football game. The dance will be in the Event Center and will start immediately following the football game. The dance will end at 11:30 pm. The cost is $10.00 which will include music, dancing, water, cookies and glow in the dark bracelets and necklaces while supplies last. Don't miss out on a lot of fun.

Back to School Night – August 28

All Spartan Families: We welcome all Spartan families to the annual Back to School Night on Wednesday, August 28, 6:30 to 8:00 pm. This is your opportunity to get your son’s class schedule, meet your son’s teachers for the school year, meet other parents and your son’s new friends. NOTE: because of the late night for the teachers, school will start late on Thursday with classes starting at 9:15 am on Thursday, August 29.

 

Food Truck/Movie Night – September 1

Mark your Calendars for Labor Day Weekend and get your early bird priced tickets now! On Sunday, September 1st (Monday is a holiday!), the Damien High School Mountain Biking Team will be holding its 5th Annual fundraiser showing the classic movie, The Sandlot. There will be lots of delicious food trucks as well! Doors open at 5:30pm for food, games, raffles, music, and fun activities. Movie starts at 8pm. Make sure to bring blankets and chairs to sit on the grass and watch the movie on the giant screen! Last year was a huge success with over 700 people attending and we expect to have at least that this year. Early bird ticket purchases are $8 each. Tickets at the door will be $12. College Fair – September 4

The annual College Fair will be on Wednesday, September 4 from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Travers Cronin Athletic Center. Currently, over 60 colleges from around the country will present information on their college/university. All Damien families are invited as well as Pomona Catholic High School and St. Lucy’s Priory families. This event is open to all grade levels – freshmen, sophomores and juniors. It’s never too early to start.

Senior Yearbook Dedications for the 2019-20 Yearbook

Seniors: if you have not taken your senior pictures yet, then no worries. You still have time. Damien Tri-School Dances, Save the Dates!

ASB will be hosting dances after home football games on the following Fridays: August 23, September 6 and September 20. So get ready to show your moves off and practice for the Homecoming Dance on Saturday October 12th

 

Moms in Prayer - Every Friday

Moms in Prayer, we believe God changes lives and whole communities forever when moms gather together to pray. Our purpose is to pray for the teachers, staff and students at Damien High School. Experience the joy of replacing anxiety with peace and hope when you pray scripturally and specifically for your son and for Damien. You are invites to a powerful time of prayer. Every Friday morning in the chapel (building 200) at Damien 8-9 am.

 

Save the Date for the Annual Gala, Dinner & Dance – November 2

Hello Damien Families: are you ready to dance? Show off your 80's moves? And have a lot of fun? On Saturday, November 2, we will be hosting our 2019 Damien Gala Dinner & Dance. The evening includes live and silent auction and for the gambler, casino tables! So, put this on your calendar and be on the lookout for future information. You don't want to miss out on a great time.

 

Save the Date: Men’s Retreat hosted by Holy Name of Mary – October 26

Holy Name of Mary’s Men’s Shield ministry group will be hosting a half-day men’s retreat on Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. All men: fathers, uncles, grandfathers, etc. Whether you are a Damien alum, parents or relatives of alumni as well as friends of Damien are invited.
