The Damien Debate Program had a successful weekend at Peninsula High School (Rolling Hills Estates). The freshmen team of Alan Huizar and Michael Quilang finished in 1st place in the Novice Division. Simon Nasser and Brendan Tremblay finished in 3rd place. Brendan Tremblay was the #1 speaker in the Novice Division while Michael Quilang was 4th place. In varsity, the team of Sophomore Tristan Bato and Senior Dylan Johnson were quarter-finalist losing a tough 2-1 decision to Notre Dame. Dylan Johnson placed 4th in speaker awards. The team has next weekend off before seven consecutive weekends of debates starting with UNLV.
