Students will study Capitulos 9A and 9B which explain the future tense and the use of the subjunctive mood with expressions of doubt.  On May 17 students will take a quiz over Capitulos 8A and 8B (50 points).  The quiz will include 35 multiple choice (vocabulary and grammar) and 15 "fill-in the blank" sentences, using the correct form of the present subjunctive mood. NO LATE WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER MAY 19.  BINDERS WILL BE CHECKED DURING CLASS ON MAY 18.

Students will begin studying Capítulo 7A--food and food related vocabulary along with reviewing affirmative tú commands and learning negative tú commands.

Students will finish studying Capitulo 6B which explains the use of the present perfect tense.  There will be a test (85 points) over Capitulo 6A/6B on the Block Schedule days.

Students will begin Capitulo 6B--vocabulary relating to movies and opinions.  Capitulo 6B reviews verbs which use indirect object pronouns and introduces the present perfect tense (the present tense of haber used with the past participle).

Students will be begin studying Capitulo 6A--thematic vocabulary about sports; television, movies and the irregular preterite conjugations of -ir stem-changing verbs.

Students will read and translate "El enano de Uxmal" and be tested over 4 leyendas on Block Schedule days.  We will begin Capitulo 6A on Friday.

Students will be reading and translating "El león y el grillo" in class.  The Spanish/English translation; the Preguntas B, and the vocabulary list will be due at the end of the period on Block Schedule Day.

We will be reading two leyendas in class this week--"Las orejas del conejo" and "Los novios."  Students will write the Spanish/English translation for each leyenda, answer the Preguntas B, and translate all vocabulary on the list for each leyenda.

Students will finish Capitulo 5B  with a test on Block Schedule days.

Students will begin studying Capitulo 5B--vocabulary relating to accidents, injuries, and parts of the body.  Students will also study the irregular preterite conjugations of venir, decir, traer, and poner.  No quiz/test is scheduled for this week.

Students will finish studying Capítulo 5A--reviewing the uses of the preterite and imperfect verb tenses and learning the irregular preterite conjugations of leer, creer, oír, and destruir.  There will be a 70 point test on the Block Schedule days covering vocabulary and grammar concepts in Capítulo 5A.  Fifty questions will be multiple choice or matching along with a writing section --filling in the blanks with the correct preterite or imperfect verb conjugations for the context of the sentences.
