Read pages 290-291 in textbook.  Write out the Spanish and the English translation (1 time each) for the vocabulary on p. 291 (3 boxes).  Complete Guided Practice pages 199-200 and Core Practice pages 111-112.  Extra credit posters are due on Monday--not accepted after Monday, for any reason.

"El enano de Uxmal"--Write the Spanish in pen and the English translation in pencil, line by line.  Translate the Preguntas B into English and answer the questions using complete Spanish sentences.  The translation, Preguntas B, and the vocabulary list should be stapled together and turned in before taking the test today.

The leyendas exam will cover "Las orejas del conejo," "Los novios,"  "El leon y el grillo," and "El enano de Uxmal."  There will be matching covering the vocabulary (from lists, from footnotes, and from any part of the leyendas) and multiple choice and true/false covering the plots.  (100 points)

 

Extra credit posters are due by March 6.  None will be accepted after that date.

Write the English translation for the vocabulary list: "El enano de Uxmal"

 

Start making vocabulary flash cards for all 4 of the leyendas--using the vocabulary lists, the footnotes, and the leyendas themselves.  You will be responsible for knowing all the vocabulary used in the leyendas and the plots.  The test will be matching, multiple choice and true/false.  (100 points--on Block Schedule days.)

"El leon y el grillo"  Spanish/English translation (using pen for the Spanish and pencil for the English); the Preguntas B (translate the questions into English and answer in Spanish sentences); and the vocabulary for this leyenda--due end of the period on Block Day.

The translation for "Los novios,"  the Preguntas B, and the vocabulary should be finished and stapled together by this date.  Remember to write the translation line by line or sentence by sentence.  Use pen for the Spanish, and use pencil for the English.  We will read two more leyendas before the test.

The vocabulary for "Los novios"  (the list which I gave to you) is due.  The class will finish reading "Los novios" and writing the Spanish with the English translation--line by line or sentence by sentence--using pen for the Spanish and pencil for the English.  When finished with the translation, translate the Preguntas B into English and answer the questions in  Spanish sentences.  The Spanish/English translation, the Preguntas B, and the vocabulary for "Los novios" should be finish and stapled together.  All three parts are to be turned in on Tuesday, Feb. 21.

Students should be finished with the Spanish/English translation of "Las orejas del conejo."  The translation of the story will be done line by line or sentence by sentence.  For the Spanish, use pen.  For the English translation, use pencil.  Make sure that the writing is legible.

For the Preguntas B, translate the questions into English and answer all questions in Spanish sentences.  When completed, the Spanish/English translation, the Preguntas B, and the vocabulary should be stapled together in that order.

We will begin reading "Los novios" as soon as we finish reading "Las orejas del conejo."  The vocabulary list for "Los novios" will be given out as soon as we finish "Las orejas del conejo."

Write out the English translations of the vocabulary for "Las orejas del conejo."  Write the translations on the paper that I gave to you.

"La Virgen de Guadalupe"-- 30 point quiz--multiple choice, matching, true/false

Preguntas B  for "La Virgen de Guadalupe" -- translate the questions into English and answer the questions in complete Spanish sentences.  The complete translation (Spanish/English. Preguntas B, and vocabulary should be stapled together and finished by this day.  

Vocabulary for "La Virgen de Guadalupe"  (handout).  We will be reading and translating the leyenda in class.  Students will write the Spanish in pen, and the English in pencil--line by line or sentence by sentence.  Students should begin writing the Spanish over the weekend, leaving room for the English translation.

Turn in la carpeta de argollas (binder) and be prepared for quiz over "El sol y la luna."

Last day to turn in late work is Dec. 9.

 

Extra credit posters may be turned in up to Dec. 16.  Only one poster is allowed and must be about either "El sol y la luna" or "La Virgen de Guadalupe."  Up to 10 points will be given based on the quality of the poster.

(One must...) followed by an infinitive.  Three rules should begin with "Se prohibe...(It's forbidden..) followed by an infinitive.  There will also be 4 questions (using stem-changing verbs) to answer completely in Spanish sentences.
