This week we will be reading and translating two leyendas in class--"Las orejas del conejo" and "El leon y el grillo."

el 25--el 29 de enero, 2016

This week we will finish Capitulo 5A with a test on Block Schedule Days.  We will begin reading another leyenda after the test on Block Schedule days.

el 19-el 22 de enero, 2016

We will begin Capitulo 5A--continuing the study of the preterite and the imperfect tenses and irregular verbs in the preterite.  This chapter will emphasize natural disasters and heroic actions.

el 11-15 de enero, 2016

We will finish Capitulo 4B by studying reciprocal action verbs and reviewing the use of the preterite and the imperfect tenses.  Capitulo 4B quiz will be on Block Schedule days this week (Block A on Wed. and Block B on Thursday).

We will review the imperfect tense and compare the usage of the preterite and the imperfect tenses.

El 7--el 11 de diciembre, 2015

We will read and translate "El sol y la luna."  Students will be tested over "La Virgen de Guadalupe" and "El sol y la luna" on Friday.  Binders are due on Block Schedule Days this week, Block A, Dec. 8 and Block B, Dec. 9.

El 30 de noviembre -- el 15 de diciembre, 2015

We will finish studying Capítulo 4A and begin reading and translating in "Leyendas Mexicanas."  Capítulo 4A introduces the imperfect tense which students will encounter while reading the leyendas.

el 9 -- el 18 de noviembre

We will be finishing Capítulo 3B and testing on Capítulo 3A and 3B the 17 and 18 of November.  The test will include vocabulary from both 3A and 3B (pages 126, 152, 154, and 180).  The grammar structures include direct object pronouns (me, te, lo, la, nos, los, las) ; the irregular preterite verb conjugations of hacer, tener, estar, poder, dar, ir, and ser; affirmative tú commands; and irregular present participles used in the present progressive tense.

El 2 -- el 6 de noviembre

We will finish Capitulo 3A and have a vocbulary quiz over p. 126 and 127.  We will begin Capitulo 3B on Block Schedule days.  Capitulo 3B includes all the direct object pronouns, affirmative tu commands, and the present progressive tense.

el 26--el 30 de octubre

We will begin Capitulo 3A with a review of chores around the house and telling time.  Capitulo 3A reviews direct object pronouns and the irregular preterite verb forms of ir, ser, hacer, tener, estar, and poder.

el 19--el 23 de octubre

This week we will be finishing Capitulo 2B.  We will continue with the preterite verb tense, and begin studying demonstrative adjectives and using adjectives as nouns.  The Capitulo 2B test will be on the Block Schedule days this week, Oct. 22 and 23.

El 12--el 16 de octubre

Capitulo 2B--This chapter reviews clothing, colors, numbers, and shopping.  The chapter also reviews regular preterite (past tense) verb conjugations.  Demonstrative adjectives (used to point out specific items) will be introduced.

El 5 - el 9 de octubre

We will finish work on Capitulo 2A, reviewing the verbs ser and estar and the long forms of possessive adjectives.  Examen on Block Schedule days.

Capitulo 2A--el 21 de septiembre--el 2 de octubre

We will be studying reflexive verbs used for personal care and daily routine, the verbs ser and estar, and the long forms of possessive adjectives.
