Middle School Math Competition » Overview

Overview

The 11th Annual Damien Math Competition will be on Saturday, October 22. It is a chance for your 7th and 8th grade students to compete both individually and as a team (of four students) against students from other schools.

The competition is open to both boys and girls currently enrolled in the 7th or 8th grade. Each team member will compete in a general knowledge math exam (called the math medley), an individual subject matter exam (arithmetic, logic and reasoning, algebra, or geometry), and will collaborate with their team in our “super quiz bowl” team exercise.

This year, $2000 in scholarships will be awarded (3 scholarships in the form of one $500 and two $250 for the top performers on the math medley in the Male and Female classifications). Scholarship can only be applied towards tuition at Damien, St. Lucy’s, or Pomona Catholic High School.
