Damien High School has a strong tradition of educating students to be men of service, scholarship, and faith. Damien also has a tradition of providing an affordable, high-quality education. Each year, through acts of kindness, Damien is able to subsidize the cost of a Catholic education to keep tuition and fees down.

Each year, Damien High School determines tuition based on the annual cost of educating a child and takes into consideration the normal increase in operating expenses.

 

The following is a summary of the 2017-2018 tuition and payment information:

 

Tuition: $8,200 (2018-19: $8,600)

Registration Fee: $550

Mandatory Fees: $400

 

Mandatory Family Participation/Donation for Gala, Golf Tournament: $100 (2018-19: $250)

 

Total Cost of 2017-18 Tuition, Registration & Family Participation: $9,250

Payments

Tuition is per student with a choice of monthly, semi-annually, or annually. Payments are processed through the FACTS Tuition Management (on-line tuition management system) and is automatically withdrawn by credit card or debit from a checking or savings account.

 

If you are planning to pay your tuition via Credit Card, you will incur a 2.85% convenience fee, which will add to your total due. FACTS accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover.

 

Merit-Based Scholarships

Incoming freshmen, based upon their achievements on the High School Placement Test, will earn a merit-based scholarship and receive the title of "Honors at Entrance." No application is necessary as these scholarships are awarded to students who score in the 90th-94th percentile and the 95th percentile and higher. Awards are granted for all four years of attendance and may range from $500 - $875 per year.

Scholarships

Incoming freshmen are eligible for three scholarships: The Nancy A. Lynch Endowed Memorial Scholarship, The Robert Souza Memorial Scholarship, The Chuck Ballingall Future Debater Scholarship.

Tuition Discounts

 

Families may be eligible to receive tuition discounts, which are deducted from the total annual tuition amount. The following are the discounts available:

 

Sibling at Damien Discount - $1,000

If you have one or more brothers attending Damien High School, your family will receive a $1,000 discount on the tuition for the oldest child attending Damien.

 

Sibling at Sister School Discount - $500

If you have one or more sisters attending one of our sister schools, Pomona Catholic Girls High School or St. Lucy’s Priory High School, your family will receive a $500 discount on the tuition for the child attending Damien.

 

Additional Costs and Fees (ancillary)  for 2017-18:

 

Athletic Fee: $150

Bus Transportation: $195 for bus route, $100 for tri-school shuttle

Books and Supplies: $750-$1,000

Course Fee: (varies by course, see parent-student handbook)

Extracurricular Activity Fee: (varies)

FACTS Tuition Management: $20 annual fee for families who pay tuition full in one or two payments. $40 annual fee for families who pay in 3+ payments

Family Service Hours: $20 for each hour not served (20 required service hours)

Replacement School ID: $10

School Apparel - (new apparel cost varies; donated uniforms are available for students at a low cost or free during the first day of school (August 8, 2017)

 

Sports, clubs and activities may charge additional fees and may have fundraising requirements for student participation.
