The Oral Exam of the Semester Final is on Thursday, May 23, 2019.

Prepare the following (attached) questions. You need to talk for about 2 minutes.

Aufgabe 7f auf dem Arbeitsblatt (handout). Schreib 8 ganze Sätze.

Lernt die Vokabeln vom Handout. (Study the vocabulary of the handout)

Lies das Arbeitsblatt (attached), druck es aus (ausdrucken=to print) und mach Notizen (take notes) auf dem Blatt. Bring es am Donnerstag in den Deutschunterricht!

Prepare an oral dialogue. You need to ask me (or Paul) to go to the mall (shoppen gehen) with you, because you need (brauchen) many things, including clothes.

* Lernt das Vater Unser. It will be tested on Friday, 3-15-19.

* Learn the expressions related to going places and different kind of answers.

Bilde Sätze mit den folgenden trennbaren Verben.

Handout Seite 55:

Schreibt die Dialoge neu. Benutzt (use) die Varianten aus dem Kasten (box).

* Schreibt den Dialog zu Ende. (finish writing the dialog) I will collect you written version of the dialog!!!

* Benutzt Ausdrücke (expressions) vom Handout, Seite 55.

Review attached conversation.

Review conjugations of verbs.

Review places to go to (ins Kino, ins Konzert, ins Schwimmbad, zur Party, zu Kobe, auf den Sportplatz, in die Stadt)

* conjugation of mögen and können. (as on the warm-up), as well as regular verbs (brauchen) and irregular as lesen, essen, sprechen, sein, haben)

* know the new vocab from the last handout "Wohin". (ins Schwimmbad, zu Tom (or another person's name), in den Freizeitpark, ins Kino, auf den Sportplatz.....)

* Have an understanding of the Fritz story (and the vocab) and know to answer questions like in the packet.

* Know what to do in a "weil" Satz. (mit weil geht das Verb ans Ende)

 

Schreibt einen Dialog, wie im Handout. Benutzt die Beispiele (examples) vom Handout. (on the second page)

 

 

Work on the Fritz Packet, we need to finish it in class. I will grade it as a quiz.

Genial Buch: Seite 38, Aufgabe 10. (finished in class, but bring to class on Wednesday)

On a piece of paper write 5 sentences stating which animals you like and one sentence about which animals you don't like. No sloppy work!!!

"Welcher Tag ist heute"- warm-up- word-search. Find the words that make sense to fill in the blanks.

Word search:  words go from top to bottom, bottom to top and left to right only.

Memorize the dialog you and your partner(s) wrote in class.

Look and study the worksheets and warm-ups that relate to questions and answers for the quiz tomorrow. You need to recognize the information that an answer provides and formulate a question.

F. ex. In an answer such as: "In der ersten Stunde habe ich Biologie." the natural questions would be: "Was hast du( Welches Fach hast du) in der ersten Stunde?"

Finish the email to Janine that we started in class.

Handout "4: Wir, Ihr und Sie": Page 37, Aufgabe 17 and 20

Handout Kapitel 4 Wortschatz: Page 26, translate the vocabulary words, for the nouns find the correct article. Page 27 #10 and #11

Finish the "Berichtigung" of test #3. In part VIII, answer "nein" and come up with what it could be. Follow the example needs to have: "Nein, das ist kein(e) ......, das ist ein(e) ........ Siehst du den/ die/ das......Ja, ich sehe ihn/ sie/ es.

Bring the "Berichtigung" to school. It's homework. Don't forget it!

Know how to talk ~2 minutes about your school and your schedule. Tell us when school begins ("Meine Schule beginnt um 7 Uhr 50"), what your subjects are (In der ersten Stunde habe ich ....") etc. "Der Unterricht endet um 14 Uhr 50"...

* Know the school vocabulary, especially the verbs, days of the week, times and be able to make statements such as:

* Know the difference between the nominative case (the subject of the sentence and nouns following the verb sein.) and the accusative case (the direct object, only dangerous for the masculine nouns in singular. der becomes den, er becomes ihn)

* Know your personal pronouns (ich, du, er... in nom. and acc. cases)

* Conjugation of haben, sein, sehen, brauchen, lernen, unterrichten, schreiben, sprechen

* Know your numbers and to tell the date and to tell when your birthday is. Attention, the ordinal number's ending changes:

Heute ist der vierzehnte November 2018  BUT:

Ich habe am vierzehnten November Geburtstag.

* Be able to talk about yourself: Ich heisse..., Ich wohne in ..., Ich komme aus Kalifornien,  Ich habe braune Augen und braune, kurze Haare. Ich bin 15 Jahre alt. Ich bin gross, intelligent, sportlich. Ich mag Basketball. Ich kann Spaghetti kochen, Baseball spielen, Deutsch sprechen...

In your Mosaik book, please study the verbs on page 56 and 57 and read the pages. It explains when to add an -e before the verb ending. You have three days, PLEASE study.

On a piece of paper: *Mosaik Book p. 57, exercise "Jetzt sind Sie dran" (now it's your turn)

                                    *Mosaik Book p. 58, exercise #3, write complete sentences.

Mosaik Book, page 57, make flashcards for at least 5 verbs, preferable 10 and BRING THEM TO CLASS TOMORROW. You will need to learn these verbs in any case, so work ahead.

Mosaik Arbeitsbuch, Seite (page) 18, # 4. Write the completed sentences (you have to add the verb) on a sheet of paper!

Try to understand when to use "Hier ist" and "Hier sind" (here is/ are) and also "Da ist" and "Da sind". (there is/ are)

The book will help. (Hint, if what follows is in the singular, the verb needs to be as well. If a plural follows, the verb needs to be in the plural.)

Send me a slide of a person you want to describe in front of the class.

Teach the class one or two new words that relate to the person. F.ex. Taylor Swift: die Sängerin (the female singer)

*Berichtigung Test #2. Write the corrected answers in a different colored pen/ pencil om the test.

Handout "wer, was, wie, wo woher?": Answer the questions asked in #14 for your friend. Use correct German. When you are asked about what he can do, use "Er kann", when asked what he likes (nouns), answer with "Er mag teure Autos (expensive cars), den Fussballclub Real Madrid, den Fussballspieler Manuel Neuer etc.)

In your Favorite Activities handout: Learn how to conjugate the verbs spielen, laufen (irregular!), machen, fahren (irregular) and gehen. Highlight and know the activities you like. At least two per verb!

Schulsachen handout:

Finish the work we started in class, writing the questions and then answering "ja" and replacing the DO (direct object) with a pronoun. (Attention: "er" becomes "ihn" in the accusative)

Do the two pages on the handout that ask how many items you have according to the pictures. Write the numbers with letters.

In you Mosaik book, page 15, #1 and #2. Write the plurals on a piece of paper.

Know the conjugation of the verb "haben" which takes a direct object. (What you have is in the accusative)

Read pages 10-20 in your Mosaik 1 book. Study the nouns, articles, plurals of the nouns. Make flashcards. You will be quizzed on the nouns on Thursday.

Read pages 10-15 in your new book and study the nouns with their definite articles and plural endings. For those of you who didn't complete their homework that was due today, it's on page 4 and 5 in the Student Activity Manual. Complete it please if you want to receive credit for it.

On page 11 in your new German book read the section regarding the Compound Nouns.

In you new Activities Student Manual do pages 4 and 5 in their entirety.

 

Come up with a conjugation rhyme/ song for the verb "sehen":

ich sehe; du siehst; er/ sie/ es sieht; wir sehen; ihr seht; sie/ Sie sehen

Study all of your vocabulary and watch the following video at least twice.
