The Damien High School Math Department is hosting its 8th Annual Mathematics Competition for middle school students on Saturday, December 9, from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm.
The competition is open to all boys and girls in the seventh and eighth grade from private or public schools. Schools may register individuals or teams comprised of four members. In addition, registration is open to individual students. All individual student registrations will have an opportunity to be on a team.
Last year, over 300 middle school students, from 22 schools, participated in individual and team events. It was the largest number of participants ever for the math competition.
Students compete in various competitions such as Math Medley (a general knowledge math exam); individual subject matter (arithmetic, logic and reasoning, algebra, or geometry); and Super Quiz Bowl (a team collaboration).
Entries must be submitted online by Monday, November 27, 2017. To register, visit the Damien High School web site: www.damien-hs.edu/apps/pages/mathcompetition. For more information, contact Xiomara Velasquez, Math Department Chair, (909) 596-1946 ex. 832 or e-mail email@example.com.
