2020-21 School wide Virtual Camino
Purpose: Pilgrims from all across the Damien High School family will set out on a year-long physical and spiritual journey traveling virtually along the historical Camino de Santiago. Damien students, alumni, faculty, staff and their families are invited to participate in this quest for physical fitness, spiritual growth, and community development. Activities throughout the year will provide opportunities for participants to deepen their experience through events focused on education, prayer, and brotherhood.
How: Throughout the year, participants will log their exercise into the https://www.theconqueror.events/camino/ platform, which will keep track of their virtual progress along the 480 miles of the centuries old catholic pilgrimage route.
Signup: $30 fee covers one sign-up, which can be for an individual or for 1 family unit (one medal per signup). Participants will be emailed log-in information close to the launch date, but can begin counting their exercise as soon as they virtually begin their journey.
End Date: Individuals complete their 480-mile pilgrimage on their own schedule, though some may want to develop their own personal end-date goals (graduation, Feast of St. James, etc.). Individuals have 18 months from their original sign-up to complete the pilgrimage.
Activities All Year Long: Activities throughout the year will provide meet and great (in-person) and check-in (virtual) opportunities for participants to deepen their experience. These events and dates are subject to change. Pilgrims will be encouraged to form friendships and bonds by encouraging small group meets that reflect common interests.
Join us today and walk the Camino with our Damien community!
