I am your Director of International Students, Coordinator of Christian Service and Service Learning, and IB CAS Coordinator.
I am a 1981 graduate of Damien High School.
After Damien I attended California State University at Fullerton, graduating with a BA in Comparative Religions. My graduate work was completed at American University in Washington D.C. where I earned an MA in Global Ethics and Peace Studies. Prior to Damien, I spent 12 years as a global educator and missionary. I returned to California in 2001 to begin teaching at Damien.
I am also a graduate of Claremont School of Theology, having attended seminary, receiving a Masters of Divinity. I am an ordained pastor in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and Minister of Community Wellness for a local congregation in south Pomona.
Throughout my career at Damien I have taught Introduction to Photography, Introduction to Art History, U.S. History, English Literature, Comparative Religions, Moral Theology, New Testament, Hebrew Scriptures, Advanced Photography, Introduction to Philosophy, and Service Learning Leadership.
I am married to Emily Patten and have three sons, Miles, Jason, and Alex (14, 19, and 22). I am an artist, working in the mediums of paint and photography. I love the outdoors, Jazz, and good discussion.
