Welcome to my webpage!
I am currently teaching Intro to Sports Medicine, Biology and the new Advanced Sports Medicine Athletic Training Class. My other duties on campus include being the Director of the Sports Medicine Program and part time Athletic Trainer. I came to Damien from Pomona Valley Hospital where I was the Sports Medicine Coordinator and Athletic Trainer. Damien hired me through PVHMC as an outreach AT to cover the football games in the 2006-2007 season. DHS learned I had a teaching credential and the very next year, Tom Carroll (past Athletic Director) called me to come to Damien as a teacher, the first full time certified athletic trainer, and to start a sports medicine program. The rest is history!
Subjects I have taught in the past at Damien include: Chemistry in the Community, Earth Science, Health, and Physical Education.
I earned my Bachelor's degree from Cal State University, Long Beach in Kinesiology: Athletic Training, passed my Board of Certification exams to become a NATA Certified Athletic Trainer. I completed my California State Teaching Credential and Masters of Education degree at the University of La Verne. In addition, I am a Certified BLS CPR/AED and First Aid Instructor as well as a Preceptor for ULV and APU's Athletic Training Education Programs (ATEP).
